A neurobiologist, a diagnosis, and ten years on the question the field skipped.

After his wife Sandy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Ron spent a decade and more than a million dollars of his own money asking something few labs were funded to ask: what if the immune system is part of the answer to neurodegeneration, and only part of the problem?

That work produced SELtx. The team has worked without salaries through the early years so the money could go to research.

The untreated mice fell off the treadmill. The treated ones kept running.

In a transgenic ALS mouse study at Indiana University School of Medicine, treated animals kept significantly more motor function than untreated ones, and the intended immune shift was statistically clear.

That is a mouse result. SELtx has never been tested in a person. The first human trial is what this raise is meant to fund, and it's the part of the story you should ask about on October 6.
